The Greyhound in Old Higham Village is the archetypal historic country pub. Housed in an imposing old stone building with chimney pots, our family-friendly pub is in the heart of the beautiful Derbyshire countryside.
Come in and dine in a wonderful traditional pub with period features like wood panels and an original fireplace. Outside, you’ll find a large beer garden with an impressive children’s play area.
We serve dishes of the kind you would find in a restaurant. Rotisserie chicken, traditional British meals, and world food is available all day every day. Enjoy a pint of silky smooth real ale with your meal. We carry a range of cask ales, craft beers, guest beers, ciders, and wines.

We were greeted quickly and seated. Orders were taken promptly. The menu was varied and good value. It was disappointing there was only 1 hot choice in desserts and a lot of salted caramel. The coffee chilled quickly I do find some machines produce warm rather than hot coffee. The staff were pleasant and helpful. .
10 of us went for Christmas dinner and despite a couple of hiccups with the online booking system provided by the brewery, the Manager and his staff made the day perfect. The food both quantity and quality was spot on and the service excellent!
We were staying on holiday just down the road from the greyhound. Other visitors and the holiday let owners had recommended the pub for food. It was a short walk away so very convenient for us to be able to go for a meal and drinks. Everything we had was tasty, well presented and reasonable value for money. The pub itself has a nice atmosphere and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed our visit.
Really nice pub, good pint and really good food. Staff i met were nice. Me and the Mrs had burgers and fries. My kind of pub decor warm, classic, country setting. Can’t say anything bad about it and looking forward to going back. Thanks very much 👍
Went for lunch this week and was very impressed. Food was good and came out in good time. I had a mixed grill which was a good size and good quality My wife had chicken salad which looked good Defiantly would recommend as it looks like they’ve had a makeover and a new menu recently. Very impressed
