The George Hotel has had a long and colourful history. During the 1800′s The George Hotel was a coaching inn with a six horse carriage leaving for London three times a week.
Today The George Hotel is a lively community pub with a well-stocked bar serving a wide variety of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks.
Our restaurant serves a wide range of home cooked food, offering great value for money and our renowned Sunday Carvery. Buffets are available for wakes and parties etc.
We have eight letting rooms, four of which are double rooms with ensuite shower.
Other facilities available include the Function Room which offers the facility for numerous occasions such as:
Business meetings / training courses
Family parties / get togethers
Wedding receptions
Larger parties wanting a Sunday Carvery in their own private space.

I've been here multiple times and every single time I end up being harassed and threatened by other pub goers, for absolutely no reason at all, used to be a great pub but it's gonna massively down hill, my friends and I won't be returning as I just don't feel safe anymore
If you like to sleep then don't stop here. The loud music was right under my room and played till after midnight. You could hear people's conversations and the pool table. The room had faulty and dangerous light fittings and very dated decor. Towels were old and flat. The room door didn't lock from the outside. Sorry, but I'm just being honest.
Only had Sunday lunch here from the carvery which was very good and hot which makes a change from others I've had. Service was very good and friendly staff. After a year the place is still just the same warm local hotel.
Came here for a family meal for 12 people. Lovely cavery. Lots of meat, veggies and drinks were reasonable. The black forest cheese cake was the best part of the entire meal. It was beautiful. Very friendly staff. We parked on the road as the carpal was full. We disabled my Dad's blue badge and it was closer to walk from the front of the pump in rather than from in the car park in. I'd like to add that the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Went for Sunday carvery. Absolutely brilliant, value for money, very tasty and the inside of the pub looks great! Definitely recommend the food.
