Myself and my wife stayed at The Gaskell Arms for three nights last weekend and what can we say.....WOW! This was our second stay and what an absolute gem in the beautiful setting of Much Wenlock We ate in the very comfortable bar area for the three nights of our stay and each of our meals were absolutely delicious. The drinks selection at the bar is excellent and also is the range of alcohol free beers and wines and let us not forget the breakfast....WOW AGAIN! The full cooked breakfast is absolutely stunning and on the Saturday morning I was offered extra black pudding and a hash brown which was not even on the menu! The room was extremely clean and comfortable with lovely views of Much Wenlock We must also mention the staff team. The customer service is absolutely exemplary and each and every member of staff that we met were so friendly, helpful and welcoming The Gaskell Arms is a jewel in the crown of not just Much Wenlock but the stunning county of Shropshire. Trust us when we say you will definitely not be disappointed 😀👍
We pulled in for lunch on a wet and windy Wednesday. Food was excellent "comfort food" (lovely cottage pie!!), drinks, staff and price where great. We didn't stop overnight so I can't comment on the accommodation however if it's anything like the warm homely feel of the restaurant and lounge then you can be sure it is a great place to rest your heads. Excellent.
Extremely friendly service. The room was comfortable and the price was fair. The evening meal was good.. not fine dining, but good honest country pub fare. The breakfast, however, was one of the best that I have ever had. A limited number of items in the Full English, (3 bacon, 1 sausage, 1 egg, 1 tomato and fried bread), but everything cooked to perfection. Also included were the usual fruit juice, grapefruit segments, cereals, toast and preserves and tea and coffee.
7 of us had a night out and an overnight here. Rooms are perhaps a bit dated, but perfectly cosy. We all enjoyed the food - dinner was exceptionally good and breakfast very nice. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Recommended.
We called in today without a reservation but found a lovely welcome. Lunch time and four unexpected guests wanting to eat, the lady behind the bar was named Laura, she couldn't have been more welcoming and cheerful. Our meals were good and the cost was reasonable, it's certainly a place to return to.
