Landlord Chris and his team offer an extremely warm welcome to this beautifully located country inn which has undergone an extensive, stylish refurbishment, making it ideal for cosy special occasions, family gatherings, large private functions or group bookings. Our five-acre site has ample free parking for over 40 patrons.
All bedrooms have free rapid Starlink Wifi, full TV package including Netflix, tea and coffee making facilities, beds from double to super king size fitted with fine cotton linen.
The restaurant and several rooms have stunning pastoral views over Holmedale towards Richmond and Swaledale. All have ensuite facilities, offering a clean and unique eye-catching decor, including luxurious free-standing baths, waterfall showers, or a combination of both. There is also one family room which has both a super-king-sized bed and a sofa bed.

Me and my partner only went in for a quick stop, but the atmosphere was really nice so we Sat down at the bar. The man at the bar was polite and jokey despite being quite busy. I really enjoyed the short half an hour break from driving that spent there and would 100% go again if I didn’t live so far :)))
Excellent dinner this evening for our party of 8. Menu suited all our party. Food served exceeded expectations. Service timely and thorough. Happy recommend
Enjoyed the Sunday dinner. It looked like they had recently taken over the bar and had no till setup for cash payments and was very bare and needed some pictures and decorations put up. The restaurant had no atmosphere. But the staff were very friendly and I'm sure it will look great soon.
We had a wonderful stay at the fox hall inn recently for a wedding in Richmond at the Yorkshire Wedding Barn. The breakfast was brilliant, with lovely fresh coffee - just what we needed! A special thank you to the landlord Chris, and Maria a member of the housekeeping team who were especially hospitable and both made our stay really great.
Had a super Sunday lunch beautifully cooked fresh produce outstanding cauliflower cheese! Great apple crumble with custard and reasonably priced! Will definitely be calling in again soon!
