Enjoyed dinner here with family. Sensible sized menu and really good food backed up by excellent service. Nice atmosphere as well. Sets a standard that lots of establishments should be aiming for. Our first but not our last visit.
Dropped in for lunch with no expectations and found a lovely atmosphere and great food. Had calamari to start and kings and Queens after (scallops squid, prawns on small toast with a touch of balsamic) beautifully presented, lovely texture and tasted great Top marks, very happy
Lovely place. Excellent food. Lots of charm and character. Nice staff. And atmospheric with locals. Unfortunately I did get a few flea bites, bad luck, it’s a dog friendly hotel so comes with the territory I guess. It was super clean so not sure what owners can do more really but that was my reality.
Stayed here as part of a round UK road trip - saw the place online and left the M6 on a whim to see if they had a room. Lovely room overlooking the rear garden, great beers in the Sunday sunshine and a fantastic dinner and breakfast. Really liked it, the setting, staff...all good.
We dropped in for an early lunch, without booking, as it was near to our Travelodge on the M6. Everything was spot-on. Dog friendly table and cheerful confident young staff. Crisp roast potatoes, succulent loin of pork, and fluffy Yorkshire puddings. Good gravy. We'd definitely go again. Well worth a slight detour from the M6!
