About us

The Ferry Tavern (formerly The Ferry Inn) is one of Warrington’s oldest pubs. It has arguably the best setting in the town nestling on its own island between the River Mersey and the Sankey to St Helen’s canal. It is in a unique position situated on the Trans Pennine Trail attracting hikers, ramblers, cyclists, and horse riders as they make their way along the trail.

A charming olde worlde inn, The Ferry is light and airy in the summer where customers can take advantage of the views over the river from our large beer garden and welcoming in the winter with a roaring stove fire. Andy and Jade have been licensees here since May 2005 after taking over the business from Jade’s parents Pat and Terry who took over the pub in 1992 after it had been derelict for 2 years following fire damage.

Absolutely beautiful mince and onion pies! A mean pint to match, range of lagers and real ales. In a beautiful setting

Great team here that are attentive and serve a great selection of beer & ales. Notjibh quite beats sitting outside on the shore of the water watching the world go by with a Ferry Taverns own ale and a bag of scampi fries.

The ambiance is just amazing, cozy in the inside and a lovely beer garden just beside a stream. Kids loved playing outdoors. A very friendly place and staff. food was not served when I was there. Prices for drinks is real good. Cyclists visit the place often for a quick drink. definitely stopping by again when I cycle through.

Really nice place to get a good beer and great food. The atmosphere is really pleasant and makes the experience even more enjoyable. The staff are helpful, friendly and quick with service. There is more than enough seating even on a busy day. I enjoyed my time here and would definitely recommend visiting this location. I would recommend looking for the flood level signs on the bar as well.
