A must place to eat. Met Cheryl and Garry a lovely couple also Julie on the bar. Lovely ambient pub with a very relaxed feel. Food was excellent with a varied menu to suit all tastes and dietery requirements and a good selection of drinks. Give it a go you won't be disappointed.
Food was delicious. Proper home cooked food. Lovely pub feel comfortable. Been a couple of times and never let's us down. We will be back!!!!!
First visit and not disappointed. Great food, portion sizes are ample. Good selection of food on the menus and specials board. Dog friendly. Car park can be a little awkward for larger vehicles. Was quiet when I visited so food was served quickly. Would visit again.
It's been quite a few years since we were last here for a meal and we're going to Heskin Hall so popped in for lunch. It was quiet with only a few people in but this was a Tuesday lunchtime. The lady who greeted and served us was ok, she seemed distracted but was pleasant just never smiled. The food was ok too but I'd choose a different meal next time as I didn't think the salt and pepper chicken burger with peppers worked and would have been better with rice but that's just my personal preference. The way it was cooked was nice and it was tasty. Not sure if dogs are welcome but if so I'd go and try it again.
Table we sat at had not been cleaned. My partners had a small gammon , which she said was lovely. I had a large fish and chips, mushy peas and tartar sauce, that didn’t come. The fish was ok, but the batter was soggy inside. The service wasn’t that bad, our cutlery in a damp napkin. Overall the meal was passable, but, to me, a little overpriced. Don’t think I’ll be back
