Great club, music is brilliant, staff are lovely
Bad experience ever. I just attended Middlesbrough empires NYE party. The waitress who served me was racist to me. Worst experience ever. Wouldn't recommend this place for anyone, spoiled my New year, worst mindset of staff ever seen. I was in the counter to order a drink and the waitress didn't even bother to serve me, she also started to serve the people who came after me. She was literally ignoring me in the que and tend to serve the white people in the line.I moved on to the next counter and then she asked the waitress not to serve me. Worst experience ever. It's a shame that these people are having this mindset even now. So illiterate
I went out for my mate's birthday last night and I went to look for my friends. Four lads started on me for walking past them in a crowd threatening me. security came and kicked me out without giving me any information, and wouldn't go and get my jacket for me and left me outside in the cold with a dead phone and someone on the street helped me get home. this happens quite alot with security not doing a good job and when contacting to get my jacket back theres never a response. 8/10 times I go to this venue it always ends with a disatisfied night out. I would strongly recommend other clubs like flares or townhouse for a more fun and enjoyable night where security actually listen.
I attended a Johnny Marr gig at the Empire in August and informed them of my access requirements beforehand. Peter dealt with my need for seating for both myself and my personal assistant/essential companion quickly and easily and knew my assistant would require entry alongside me. When there everything was fairly organised although Peter must have thought otherwise as we were given a round of drinks on the house for having to wait a little bit. The view was great and the seats were comfortable. As an ambulant disabled person, I wouldn't hesitate to return to the Empire to see a gig and look forward to attending in the future. Thank you for a stress free experience and a great night. Johnny Marr rocked it, as usual!
Great venue with amazing sound and lighting. If you want a night out in Boro this is the place to be! Loads of rooms that play different music to so something for everyone.
