Why we love Tring

Fun facts. The great-grandfather of George Washington (the first U.S. president) was born in Tring. And the town’s origins can even be traced way back to prehistoric times – when settlements lived in the area. Aside from its rich history, Tring is a jewel in the crown of the great British countryside. You can easily get lost in its beauty on several walks that branch out across the Chilterns. From rambles over the iconic Chiltern ridge to the Little Tring trail, that traces a quiet stream all the way to the Grand Union Canal. The Natural History Museum is a big attraction for visitors – a four-minute drive away from here. Once part of the Rothschild family home, it displays all walks of the natural world. To find out more about the town itself, a six-minute drive away lies a treasure-trove of historical interest at Tring Local History Museum. Discover objects, photos and documents, as well as stories of residents from the past. Throughout the calendar you’ll stumble across other cultural draws too – like book festivals, Apple Fayre and outdoor music events.

Had 3 courses for 23.99 as part of the festive set menu. Really good value and the food was excellent. Highly recommend!

Great food. Best steak I've had even though I ordered the cheapest cut. The service could be better though. We came with a party of around 9 people and we were told that they wouldn't seat us as they only had room for six and that we should have booked and now we would have to sit in the bar area. We didn't mind this but we just felt that the staff could have been more accommodating and explained it with a better attitude.

Went for father’s day. They were very busy, but we got a quick service and they were friendly. The food was good and service was nice throughout. Would visit again

Myself and my husband visited here recently for dinner, not been here for quite a while. Very nice waitress called Jo served us. Upon mentioning it was the anniversary of when we first started going out, she returned with a lovely gift from the team at The Crows Nest. Nice gesture and totally unexpected. Food, service and view were all good 👍 Will return again soon 😀

First time visit to this place after a long walk at Wendover Woods. Staff were helpful and prompt with service and food. However food wasn’t particularly hot when served which was disappointing as we had 5 hungry kids to feed! The 4 adult meals were not particularly hot either which was disappointing. Prices were reasonable for the food ordered and there was also a huge beer garden and play area to the rear which was very handy for the kids to play in.
