Coldest pub in the dales!!! Despite a fire in both sides(one only being for locals with a sign telling you so!!!) Everyone had their coats on it was that cold. Not what you want after a cold day on the hills. Staff were friendly enough. Wouldn't visit again if I had other options
I am truck driver from aja smith and these people helped me when I was stuck in the snow they gave me something to eat and offered me a place to sleep. Thank you to Tom Sandra from crown hotel and all the other drivers that wanted to help me. King regards
Came in after hiking and the hosts were more than welcoming despite being about to close. Lovely dinner and drinks while we waited for our train.
Pub is very small and one half (despite being empty) is just for residents of the area. Staff are very rude - they wouldn't do me a side of chips because it wasn't on the menu so I had a very greasy mushroom starter instead, which I couldn't finish. It's a shame because they obviously get very busy and it's in an ideal location for those starting or finishing the peaks.
Had dinner here after completing the Yorkshire three peaks challenge. The homemade pie and chips was delicious, as was the local ale. It was a Monday night so the place was quiet. Staff were friendly and efficient. Good menu. Clean toilets. 5 stars!
