I was fortunate enough to stay at this hotel over Christmas. I loved my room, the restaurant and conservatory. The bar was functional and welcoming but unavoidably small. Staff well trained and friendly, Manageress very efficient and friendly. Food top notch, not easy to achieve for a full house.
Great place to stay with your š All the staff were really very helpful and approachable. Nothing was too much trouble. Just over 1 hour to Stirling, through breathtaking countryside and quaint towns.
The rooms are just great, but what really makes this a wonderful place are the amenities, public spaces, pub/restaurant, and the hotel staff. We walked the WHW and arrived just after 3pm. Our shoes were wet from the hike, but they have a "drying room" you can use. By morning they were dry! You can get a pint at the pub and sit in the cozy parlor/salon that has a wood stove. There is also a quiet Library space with books and seating. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious, and less expensive than I thought it would be. We enjoyed talking to the server and bartender about the local area. Breakfast in the Conservatory was very nice as well. I wish we had Best Western hotels in the US that were this nice!
Only popped by to see if their kitchen was still open after a long day of travelling. The staff were very kind and understanding and helped us out with a takeaway box and we ordered some drinks whilst we waited. Bar staff made sure our dog was well looked after with treats and the food didn't take long at all to arrive. Overall a brilliant quick-stop in a cosy restaurant staffed by very kind and friendly staff. Will certainly book a proper stay in the future.
Hotel was lovely on first impressions, we arrived without a booking as we was in the area and price was very high but thought we would give it a go anyway, when we check in the room we was very disappointed, very small and dated, Thermostat isnāt operational in your room and only my main reception even though it says it should work. We ate in the restaurant and the food was lovely but there was a very strange smell in just the bar and restaurant area and couldnāt figure it out and is off pudding when eating, however breakfast the next day was amazing and in another room and that was fine. All staff were friendly and welcoming. I have mixed feeling on this place, I think if it wasnāt so expensive I wouldnāt be as disappointed but expected more for Ā£222 a night.
