Award winning food, gin and late night revelry
The Colonel Fawcett is a beautiful independent pub, situated in the backstreets near Camden Road. We are immensely proud of our carefully sourced, seasonal British menu, our extensive Gin range (over 60 varieties) and our ever growing craft beer and ale selection.
Monday – Thursday
For the food lover or the ale explorer. Early week is a chance to discover why we take so much pride in our food and drink at The Colonel Fawcett. A great time for a meal or a quiet drink with friends, in a relaxed atmosphere.
Friday – Saturday
Lunchtimes are buzzing but family friendly, with emphasis on our food and our service. Later in the evening The Colonel well and truly bursts into life. Music til late, playing anything and everything to make you dance. Reserve an area downstairs for free, or check out our beautiful 120 capacity function room.
Sunday
Sundays are what the Colonel Fawcett truly excels in. Award winning roasts (The Observer Food Monthly Best Sunday Lunch), newspapers and cocktails. If the sun is shining, pop out to one of our two gardens and enjoy a cocktail or three. If the snow is falling, curl up on one of our big sofas with a mulled wine.

We hired out The Upstairs Room at The Colonel Fawcett for a private work event, the team were super helpful and communicated really well beforehand and they even slightly adapted their menu to suit our tastes which was great! On the night itself we were really well looked after by the staff, the drinks were flowing and our team had loads of fun playing both pool and darts, the background music adds a nice vibe too. The buffet was delicious, all clearly labelled, tasted really fresh, and in no way was it "regular pub grub" and we had so many great comments from our guests about it too. It's a 5 star review from Southgrove, we won't hesitate to return and recommend - thanks guys, until the next time!
I hired the function room for a birthday party. The pub and the function room are great: spacious, nicely decorated, well equipped, with a strong selection of drinks. The staff were very accommodating and provided excellent service on the night. Look forward to going back again!
Seemingly every beer I tried to order was unavailable much to the embarrassment of the really lovely staff. Seriously there were more than 8 beers listed on the menu which were unavailable. Same story for the food. Many dishes unavailable. And then to the Risotto. £16.50 for this tiny and appalling looking plate of gruel? Lovely staff. Management demonstrating total incompetence.
Fantastic pub with great staff, made our event so special! I hosted a large pub quiz fundraiser in the private room upstairs and the space was perfect. Joel and the team made it all so easy and the venue is perfect for getting a large group together for a party and celebrating. Would highly recommend!
Went for a roast the other Sunday and it was super nice. Sat in the back outside and was all round a lovely afternoon. Banging roast. Good beer! DEYA on tap!
