A wonderful friendly pub with consistently delicious meals and a very tempting puddings board. Very well run with warm and caring staff, good food, comfortable surroundings, delightful beer garden, a welcome for dogs and immaculate toilets. All the things which matter to me.

I belong to a Male voice choir who happend to be singing in the cathedral. And went here for an afterglow, we were greated by the host who welcomed us we had a fantastic time. We will certainly recommend the Clarence as a place for excellent service, food, and a great choice of beers.

Went here with a group of over 30 people for lunch. Prior notice of our meal selections had been given. All the meals were served very quickly, and the presentation was great.

A friendly local pub serving good food and an excellent selection of good beers with the benefit of an outside seating area. Very popular and a table booking is recommended.

A lovely, bustling pub, deceptive in size, situated on the edge of town. If you are a visitor to Brecon, The Clarence is ideally placed for a pit stop when seeing the sights. We live locally & decided to take our grandchildren here for a mid-week lunch. We were warmly greeted by the owner & very pleasant staff, then shown to our table. The menu had plenty of delicious home cooked meals on offer, from light bites to hearty fare, plus a children's menu. We were spoilt for choice & making a decision wasn't easy. There is also an OAP menu (main & dessert for £13.95), which is available to everyone! This delighted me as I was eager to try the chicken in white wine sauce, followed by sticky toffee pudding, both were delicious. The portion sizes were plentiful & after indulinging in the wonderful hot puddings, we were all pleasantly stuffed. I would highly recommend a visit to The Clarence, though booking is advisable as it's a very popular place. 😀
