Located centrally within the sprawling village of Cottenham (6 miles north of Cambridge) and overlooking the war memorial sits the 180 year old Chequers public house.
The Chequers team would like to welcome you to a family friendly free house pub with bar and restaurant, offering real ales and good value, fantastic food.
The main menu offers traditional favourites at an affordable price, with roasts on Sundays served from 12 until 4. We also offer authentic Italian pizzas to eat-in or takeaway, made in a wood-fired oven in the garden and cooked by our Scillian Pizza Chef.
In the bar there are a variety of cask ales including Adnams, and a constantly changing range of guest ales together with a varied wine list to suit all palates and pockets! We can also offer Aspall cider on draft, a range of lagers, spirits, soft drinks and a selection of teas and coffees.
We have a beer garden, courtyard seating area under grapevines and a car park.
We hold an annual Beer Festival, Live music on the Sunday evenings of each Bank Holiday, we can cater for Private parties; Weddings, Birthdays, Christening and Wakes – call us to discuss in more detail.

Great service, nice atmosphere. We visited them after the boxing day so they only offered pizzas and it was great. They have gluten-free pizzas, too.
If you are in the village of cottenham, just north of Cambridge, you could do a lot worse than to visit The Chequeres pub. This place does phenomenal food and great pizzas. My family and myself enjoy a meal here every so often.
Came across this pub on a visit to Cambridge. Lovely local atmosphere and waitress seated us to the table. T bone steak was in special and wasn't disappointed! Portion was huge with all the trimmings and home cooked chips and onion rings. Great service and a credit to the chef that took time to come to the table and chat. Will definitely be visiting again.
Apologies for the half-eaten photos, but when the food is this good, it's hard to hold back! Absolutely delightful experience at The Chequers pub! From the perfectly cooked seabass to the mouthwatering grilled rump with crispy fried onion, every bite was a treat. The Regina pizza was a burst of flavors, and the Eton mess was a sweet finale that left me craving for more. Impeccable service, cozy ambiance, and a menu that's a true culinary delight.
One of the best Pizzas we had. They hosted party for little ones to learn how to make pizza and we ordered for adults and their dough and pizza sauce is delicious which gives great flavour to Pizza. Our daughter loved the pizza and had great afternoon. Max was great for taking our order. Chef Luka is amazing , look out for him.
