Steve & Julie Hurdman are pleased to welcome you to the Castle Inn restaurant and pub in the picturesque village of Holcombe near Teignmouth and Dawlish, a traditional 19th century inn set in the heart of the village.
The cosy interior reflects a perfect balance you would expect in a traditional village pub, from the classic warm candle lit décor of the restaurant to the bar where you can relax and enjoy one of the many popular local beers and not forgetting the glorious roaring log fire in the winter.
In the restaurant you will find a tempting range of lunch and evening menus for you to choose from, which change regularly according to the seasons, featuring fish, meat and vegetarian dishes – all sourced locally where possible.
There is an extensive selection of fine wines and real ales which have been carefully chosen to complement the food on offer. Alternatively, enjoy a cool drink or al fresco dining outside on our vine patio, where there are tables and chairs – the perfect place to enjoy a hot summers afternoon.
With good food and and a great selection of real ales, the Castle Inn restaurant and pub in Holcombe is definitely a place worth visiting.
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate dogs inside the pub due to size and food being served at all tables but we do have outdoor covered area with tables and drinking bowls provided.

Best proper pub locally, but don't tell anyone!!!
We had walked around the great coastal walk to this pub at the top of the hill, looking forward to food and drink when we got there. We arrived a little early before opening time at 6pm but a lovely lady, now know her name is Norma, let us 10 mins before and even allowed us a drink and to browse the menu before opening time. What a lovely welcome. The food was lovely and good choice of drinks and beers, a cosy atmosphere thoroughly recommend this pub
Stayed in a cottage in Holcombe for a week and ate here most evenings. The food was excellent and the service great. They really made us feel at home. We had our dog with us and although dogs arent allowed inside we sat outside each evening. The outside area is covered and comfortable and our dog was offered treats each time. We will certainly return if we stop in the area again 👍
Visited this lovely pub during a family weekend in Dawlish. Traditional Pub with a great atmosphere, friendly staff. We had food while we were there, and it was excellent. 3 Sunday roasts and one Crab salad, along with treacle and walnut tart... all delicious. The staff put themselves out to make our visit to the pub very enjoyable. I would recommend The Castle Inn as a great pub with excellent food.
