What a place, what music, what people, what more do you need?
Good place for a gig. Good beer. Reasonably priced. Sound was good. Staff were decent. Would go again to see love music for sure. One of them hidden Birmingham gems.
I visited on 9th November, with several members of my immediate family, to watch Mad Dog Mcrea perform. Venue was warm and welcoming, with a "castle keep" feel to the bar, and a good warming real fire. Band were great, and the atmosphere was friendly and respectful. Everyone was there to enjoy themselves, and let others do the same. Very good, highly recommended. Guinness at £4.90 a pint, and served in good quality thick plastic glasses, hardly distinguishable from standard glass.
Saw a flock of seagulls there tonight. They were superb. The venue was excellent great sound and bar and toilets. Very pleased. Can't wait for Wolfgang flur in October and some punk events in December. Looking forward to using again. The only downside is parking is not good
Saw the Fleetwood Mac songbook at the Castle and Falcon. Street parking wasn't a major problem. Didn't see a wheelchair accessible entrance or toilet (ring them about this if you're planning a trip). Good sized venue for an amazing tribute band. Reasonably priced drinks. I really enjoyed the back to basics Black Country vibe of the place. Would recommend.
