Had a family and friends meal here which was excellent. For my part, the battered cod which in fact was haddock was superb and jumped into my top 5. The meals various that were enjoyed by the others were also highly regarded. Service was excellent as well, nice ambiance.. Thoroughly enjoyable meal.
Food was great! Bit pricey but was worth it. The restaurant was cosy and candle lit, just a little cold. Will definitely be returning!
We stopped by for Sunday lunch in November 2023. Vegetarian roast was spinach, sweet potato and walnut wellington £15. Also had a chicken roast £16 (be aware it's a leg) and the duo of lamb presented beautifully and was a very tasty roast. Freshly prepared vegetables carrots, cabbages, and cauliflower cheese. No Yorkshire puddings with any of the roasts and had to pay £3.50 if you wanted the extra Yorkshire pud. Overall nice homemade food and friendly service.
Fantastic pub on the main street in Solva. An excellent range of beers (all very well kept), with the Gower Gold being particularly good. Extensive menu, we had mackerel pate and a goat cheese tart for starters, followed by ricotta cannelloni and scallops with chips. It was all beautifully cooked, well presented and delicious but sadly, we were so full that we couldn't manage any of the fabulous sounding sweets. Staff were friendly, helpful and informative, attentive without being pushy. All in all we would highly recommend
A lovely family run pub and hotel in a really beautiful setting. Food and rooms were great and staff were really friendly and helpful the whole time. Was really great to get chatting to the new owner, which gave it that personal touch that a lot of places don’t have. Will definitely be returning as there’s lots to explore nearby.
