The Black Rat Pub Is privately owned and is not a chain. There are a variety of real ales which are rotated every week. Also lagers and wines available.
Previously a florist shop, this micro-pub (it has capacity for approximately 15 people!) opened in March 2016. A friendly welcome is assured and there is a cosy atmosphere. As there is no music, TV or games machines, conversation and banter is key. The pub offers a varying selection of four real ales, primarily from Yorkshire breweries and with one line dedicated to dark beers. Also offered are two craft keg ciders, four boxed ciders and two craft lagers along with a range of artisanal gins. It can be very busy first thing after a working day.
Cracking little pub. Wide choice of real ales and all the usual wines and spirits, friendly atmosphere. Also something for lager drinkers. No food
What a gem the Black Rat is!! A fantastic selection of Yorkshire beers and a buzzing atmosphere. Ed certainly knows his ales. I can't wait for my next visit, well worth travelling from Essex!
Micro pub located on the Leeds Bradford road. Impressive offering of local real ales, IPA. These are changed regularly. Barman Ed knows his stuff, community feel to the place. Competitive prices to drinks all served in a space that enables conversation and ensures a warm welcome.
We had a great afternoon in the Black Rat recently. Good beers and a good vibe. Landlords Alison and Pete are great hosts. I especially like the fact that it is dog friendly.
This is a real gem. Visited over the May Bank Holiday. Great range of beers and gins. Lovely touch to have complimentary bar snacks too. Really friendly atmosphere, everyone is made to feel welcome. If you are in the area the Black Rat is definitely worth a visit.
