Lovely Christmas lunch 😋 and wonderful Staff looking after us all. Thank you Holly and your Team 😘
The Black Lion is one of my favourite pubs to visit and we as a family visit often. The food is phenomenal and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend going on a Sunday for a roast or on a Friday for their steak night. The pub has a modern, yet country, homely feel to it with fires going whilst you enjoy a bite to eat with a drink. It also has a TV so the boys can watch those important games! The service is friendly, polite and professional and if you visit often enough the ladies behind the bar know your order by heart! Which gives the pub that more personal touch in comparison to other local pubs. I couldn’t recommend enough!
Sunday roast was really lovely. I had lamb, hubbie had beef, good selection of inclusive veg and everything was cooked to perfection. The apple crumble and custard was yummy. Friendly attentive staff, nothing was any bother, made us feel very welcome. We look forward to returning, well done.
We stopped in for a late lunch. At the time we stopped in there were not many other patrons which made for quick service, and everyone was very friendly. The food came up quickly and was delicious. We tried the fried brie, tomato soup, gammon roast, and a portion of chips. All the different parts of the roast dinner were excellent, perfect gammon slices, tasty gravy, roast potatoes - crunchy outer, tender fluffy inner, carrots - firm with a little crunch, cheesy cauliflower - firm stalk with soft florets with a slightly strong cheese sauce... basically as good a roast dinner as I've had. The honeycomb cheesecake we had to finish was excellent too.
After a long walk, stopped off for lunch and a few drinks. Friendly staff, good range of drinks, including Heineken! Not seen that in many places around the area. Food was good portions and good quality. Good size garden area, so looking forward to going back when it's a bit warmer. Highly recommended for drinks, food and relaxing.
