Stopped in for a bite to eat after a long drive and were pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem! Lovely Cosy little bar at the back, dog friendly owners who were a delight to chat with and the food was spot on. Can’t comment on the rooms as we didn’t stay, however the bar was great and the toilets were spotless.
Popped in for a bite to eat. Had a fantastic steak and kidney pie. Stuffed with steak. Superb portion of chips and peas to go with it. Had a tasty pint of Three Tuns Best Bitter and the bill was less than £16.
Trish and Dave were wonderful hosts, the rooms are clean and smart and the guest lounge and dining room very comfortable. They coped very well with 6 of us and our mountain bikes and we had a great time. Trish’s home cooked food really hit the spot and Dave’s beer was excellent. Trish even sorted us out with a much needed packed lunch for our last day on the Trans Cambrian way, perfect.
Trish and Dave are very hospitable hosts. Obviously things are up in the air with the current situation but they are working hard and using the time to do some renovations. Room was clean and comfortable, a bit chilly to start with but soon heated up. Good portions for evening meal and breakfast. Nice beer too.
Actually, we have never stayed at the Hotel as we stay on a nearby caravan and camping site. However, we always make a visit during our stay as the welcome is always warm. The food is excellent, freshly prepared and delicious. The drinks, we choose, are from a local brewery and are freshly pulled with taste and character. The premises are being restored to its former glory and we notice big changes every time we visit. We look forward to visiting the Black Lion as much as we enjoy staying on site. It's a great area to visit and we try to do this 3 or 4 times a year.
