"When our week’s work is over, to the Jug we repair, For we always enjoy ourselves when we meet there, We laugh, talk and smoke and sing with such glee, No party elsewhere half so happy as we."
With the bar at its heart and food in its soul the Black Jug is a traditional pub.
The perfect spot to enjoy an after work pint of ale or glass of vino, a lunchtime bite from our daily menu or a leisurely Sunday roast complete with roaring log fire, whatever the occasion you will always find a relaxed atmosphere and a very warm welcome.
Hope to see you all soon.

Lots of staff running around. But one member of staff looking after the bar. Thought about leaving without ordering as I seemed to be waiting ages to be served. When I did get served the beer was good. Might call back at a quieter time to see if service is better. Would like to try some of the huge range of whisky
A few friends and I visited the Black Jug on Sunday for a roast dinner. Booking was easy and hassle free. We arrived and were escorted to our table in a cosy but airy part of the pub. The atmosphere was great and there were loads of people enjoying their roasts too. The food was delicious and the price you'd expect to pay. Around £19 to £23 depending on what you chose. Sides of pigs in blankets were available too, which are a staple side for this time of year! Plenty of food for the price. Desert list was filled with tempting treats, all around £7.95, again, reasonable. The staff were very friendly. Can't fault the experience and will go back.
My last stop in Horsham for my last drink before hit back to home. Service was ok with good atmosphere but all I didn’t like the variety they are serving. Most of cask which are fine but keg is most of the things you can have from supermarket. Nothing special.
Definitely a place for lunch. We had 4 starters and chips. Responsibility priced, great taste, good service. Would have had 5*, no parking, fyi park at the leisure centre 6mins walk
Beautiful pub for a Sunday roast. Had the braised lamb shoulder which complemented well with a rosemary gravy and assorted vegetables. The lamb was tender and succulent. It paired well with the red wine which there was quite a few to choose from. There’s also a lovely beer garden outside for the summer.

Nestled in the centre of the market town of Horsham, Piries Bar is a hidden gem. Tucked away in a small alleyway, it’s easy to walk past without seeing it but a delightful 16th Century oak beamed bar awaits.
