Built in the 1800’s as a coaching inn, set in an area of natural beauty, and offering superior B&B accommodation with 4 brand new rooms, The Stables at the Black Horse is set in an idyllic village, just 7 miles from Durham City.
Situated on the A690, it offers direct links to Durham, Weardale, and Bishop Auckland, making it a great base for travellers exploring the local area and the glorious County Durham countryside.
Great bar, beer good too and spot on bar staff
Nice cosy clean rooms, the staff and locals all friendly, pity they didn’t do food but plenty of other choices in the village.
The staff were lovely the rooms were immaculate and cosy. I'd definitely give it 10 out of 10...
Had the most amazing fish fingers sarnie and chips yesterday from the horse box. Proper chunky fish fingers. Hubby had a burger and really enjoyed it. Lovely ladies serving, great food, amazing portion sizes. Highly recommend
Great British local pub. Brilliant atmosphere and the staff are very pleasant. Football normally on, pool table is nice and a beautiful dart board too. Well worth a look in.
