Having won Turnaround Pub of the Year for London and the south east in 2014 and Best Thames Local Pub Restaurant 2015, TCW has become a 'must visit' pub for locals and tourists alike.
People have been drinking here for around 350 years and we keep that as a priority, but also know that fresh produce and good food should not be exclusive to gastro-pubs and our seasonal menu reflects this.
Met my son for lunch and swapped Xmas gifts. Had trouble with a public parking meter at the back of the pub, eventually solved by telephoning. Staff were exceptionally nice, and pub has great real ale options as a Brakspear house. (Local brewery) it has a reasonable lunch menu Inc vegan/veggie options. Lunch also has a specials board toasted paninis and jacket spuds. My other half had garlic mushrooms as a light lunch, and I had cheese and onion panini. The panini was OK but nothing special. Not much cheese and somewhat dry. My ao had ham gg and chips which looked delicious. All in all 4 ot of five is a good score for what is a nice casual place to visit but I've tasted better food
Hearty, good portions, excellent service 🎊👍
A gorgeous traditional ‘old world’ pub. The building is so charming, it must be 200 years old. The menu is very interesting, with Spanish tapas and fresh paella, as well as high quality wood fired pizzas and of course all the pub classics. The garden out the back is absolutely darling and catches the afternoon sun perfectly.
A wonderful pub! It has an oldie charm feel, the staff are friendly and the food is amazing! It was our second visit and it didn’t disappoint. Freshly cooked fish, with great chips (which a lot of places fail to cook a great chip). Alongside a delicious Pinot noir that didn’t shock us on price. The puddings are presented on a chalk board at your table; homemade proper British puds - sticky toffee, chocolate brownie, bread and butter etc. It is worth a visit to this place!
We were visiting Goring so popped in to the Catherine Wheel just after lunch to check out the menu, the young lady at the bar was so welcoming and told us about the Spanish chef they have and the wonderful tapas so we booked in for an evening meal to celebrate our anniversary. The tapas was absolutely delicious. My husband loves pizza and said this was the best pizza he'd ever had. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and the staff were so friendly and the service was fantastic. I'd definitely return.
