Hayley and Sam are proud to take on the Bay Horse at Ravensworth. The Bay Horse is situated just a short drive out from Richmond in the picturesque village of Ravensworth.
Our vision for The Bay Horse Inn is really simple:
To bring back a vibrant traditional country pub to the area.
Working closely with Hayley's parents Adrian and Gill Barrett, we aim to offer a simple but quality food and drinks menu that will be served to a consistently excellent standard. Adrian and Gill have been massively successful in previous establishments in places such as The Hack and Spade, The Arden Arms and more recently Barrett's Cafe Bistro.
This coupled with a warm and welcoming service from the family will create a buzzing and inviting atmosphere back to Richmond.
After a full refurbishment of the pub, the demand and interest for bookings has been amazing. We cannot thank you all enough! We advise to avoid disappointment in booking tables in advance.

Very welcoming and friendly staff on arrival. We had mains and desserts for four adults and two children that were all well presented, good portions and very tasty. The beef bourguignon pies were absolutely delicious as was the cheese souffle. All of our meals were faultless and highly recommended by all.
We went on Sunday for lunch with our dog, and sat in the bar area. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and kindness. Our dog was cuddled and cuddled and the waitresses were just so polite and wonderful. The owner and people behind the bar were also so friendly. Our lunch was just absolutely delicious. We have eaten in thousands of pubs around the UK and even Michelin star ones. This pub deserves those stars!! The food was the best pub food we’ve ever tasted. I had tomato soup and goats cheese fritter to start, my husband the cod goujons. Mains the lamb rump and the scampi and chips. Just perfection! The lamb was so tender too. Highly recommended, a must go to. This was the most friendly pub we’ve ever been to, with the best food. Thank you. We will visit again when in the area for certain! They need michelin stars ⭐️
There was a mix up and we weren't booked in. There were 6 of us for Sunday lunch. The place was very busy but the staff were exceptionally good and accommodated us at a table. Very prompt courteous service. Lovely staff. The food (6x roast beef,) was absolutely gawjusssssss with veg beautifully cooked. Great choice of deserts and good value. The reason we spent so much was that we had lots to drink! Will definitely go back again
The perfect date night! My husband and I visited the Bay Horse for date night, and it was perfect. The food was outstanding and the service was faultless. We had the Hors D’œuvres plate to start, I had the Steak and he had Hake. Followed by an amaretto trifle and topped off with a bottle of wine. The perfect setting for date night, tucked away in the corner of the snug with some wonderful food. 100% recommend.
Lovely "Quality" restaurant. Our first visit since new management. Now Beautifully fully restored & decorated.
