Our wonderful pub was given its present name in 1975. Previously known as the The New Inn, Praed's Arms, then The Lelant Arms (1899-1975), it was considerably extended and modernised in 1900, becoming the building we know today.
Traditional village centre pub, inn & restaurant with Carvery.
Situated on the main road into St. Ives and near to St. Ives rail line station.
Close to West Cornwall Golf Club and Hayle estuary SRPB reserve.
Open all year for food, drink and rooms.

It was our first visit there last night and had what was at the time a very nice meal. I was then sick for about 2 hours later at night when I went to bed. Spoken to the duty manager today who apologised but that was about it. Won't be going back which is a shame as it looks great inside. Staff were attentive and the place was quite busy. Such a shame I was so ill though.
Nice garden area. Very awkward car park and registration system. Beautifully maintained front, hiding a less beautiful back of building. Very generous portions. Great quality and tasting food. Rushed feel at the buffet. Good seating, but a little dense. Good value for money. Will visit again but hopefully not by car!
A great value pub lunch. There are a group of 6/8 of us who go for lunch in this area on Saturdays. The badger provides a diverse menu with all prices £10.95. BBQ pulled pork burger excellent, as was chilli. Large portions and efficient/friendly service
We had a good pub meal here. Food was served quickly, staff were very polite & friendly. We both had pate to start, followed by scampi & a steak. 1 half of cider, a white wine & small coke, and it only cost £66. Service charge is only £1 per person dining. We would recommend and definitely return again. A real little find.
We normally only go here for a carvery, but we decided to have an evening meal here. Food is nice, the staff are pleasant. But the only thing that puts me off is the amount of dogs. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike dogs, but I also don't like having to smell wet dog while eating. There are signs up around the pub not to let your dogs onto the seats but it seems that if you are called KAREN and a local it's OK. There is a large garden where I'm sure the dogs would be much happier and bark to their hearts content. Having said that it could be a nice place with a bit of TLC. Get rid of the sticky tables, clean the stains off the seats and bring back the nice place it used to be.
