The Hardisty Brothers, Pete, Andy and Ian acquired the pub in December 2013 and undertook a programme of extensive refurbishment.
There is now a separate dining room which is available for private hire and the pub is available for special occasions and family events. We also cater for business meetings and club gatherings.
Our superb varied menu changes seasonally and our Head Chef; Jim Wilkinson provides tantalising weekly specials, so keep your eye on our blackboards! The team is very much looking forward to serving you and a warm welcome awaits.

5 stars just on initial impression. Ale great. Can't wait to come back for food. Did a great, easy 4 mile walk earlier - then noticed walk description in the entrance lobby.
Had a great meal here today. The staff were very kind about letting us stay late due to two of us arriving late - delayed by having to re-route because the toll bridge is closed - please be aware of that. It's a well thought out menu, with lots of choice for people with different dietary needs. And all of us found both our courses to be absolutely delicious - if a little too generously proportioned. I was delighted to have more than one vegetarian (in fact, vegan) option to choose from - and so tasty and original. Especially loved the mango chutney that came with my starter. And my meat-eating other half declared the gravy with his beef main to be the best he has eaten. And that is high praise indeed. We will be back - and wish all the team here great success!
Brilliant place to eat. Fantastic food and service Only downside was the location. Not the pubs fsult but the weather detour this way and that due to floods etc.
The staff here literally couldn’t do enough for us. We asked for the ribs as a main and they gave us 9 ribs plus a side of chips and onion rings! So generous! The seabass was fantastic, a lighter meal with amazing seasoning. The spinach was so herby and salty. Fantastic place.
Creative kitchen with well-executed twists on classics. Everything was amazing, but the sea bass and the steak-frites stood out. We chanced upon this place on our way north, but it would well be worth a detour.
