Got there and service was ok apart from when the remote control didn't work for the TV. Asked for a replacement as we were staying 2 nights and they said would try to find a replacement but none came so that was a bit annoying. When we arrived in the room the sink in the bathroom was blocked full of shaving hairs! Not the best welcome! Cheap and cheerful, breakfast was reasonably priced and nice though, in the end I would say it's about 2 and half stars out of 3 as it wasn't terrible!
Absolutely appalling hotel and food. We arrived and the food (what they had left) was bland and nearly cold. The landlady is really rude When we went back to the room, the rooms were dated and the mattresses were obviously really old as the springs were sticking in my back all night Unfortunately I wouldn't stay here again
Couldn't get a b& b in Stratford on Avon as ones we use were full. So booked here. First impressions were coming to stay at a pub. On live music night. Fun trying to get some sleep,I thought. Room was good. Basic. Nice beds. Tea n coffee to hand. Warm. Reasonable shower. No bath. No issues with noise in fact. Large car park. Ten minutes walk to town. Lovely local shopping and amazing old buildings to see. We had basic breakfast which was large enough but pricey. Belly buster looks huge. Course you had to eat in the bar,but we all use carveries. Would use again as we wish to visit Alcester again. Good value but not as homely as a b& b. Glad to say that room and corridors didn't smell like a pub !
Good food selection. Not your usual pub grub thankfully but for us it was refreshingly different. Lovely atmosphere unexpectedly busy for a Tuesday evening. Attentive and friendly staff.
The room itself wasn't bad, especially for the price. However, we had room 35, and the location within the hotel isn't ideal. When the windows are open people are just below smoking, drinking, and do what people do when at a pub so we had to endure that most of the evening and made it impossible to relax at all. Until 8pm, it was very loud as they had some type of event going on. It wasn't until close to 10pm that it finally wasn't as bad, which was good so we could sleep. The food wasn't bad. Great value as most items were under 10£. Large, free, car park. Wasn't a problem getting a spot to park. Check their website as they have several events.
