Aikman's Bar~Bistro and The Cellar Bar are situated in the centre of historic St. Andrews and have been renowned for the quality of its food as well as for the widest and probably most interesting Drinks list in Town for many years now. Situated in the warehouse of one of the oldest businesses in St. Andrews, we look to maintain the high standard of food and drink which allowed the original Aikman & Terras Food and Wine business to trade for more than 144 years.
We are also pleased to say that we have been listed in the CAMRA "Good Beer Guide" for 31years since 1987 and showcase at least 300 Cask Ales every year and on average nine different ales every week.
Live music features heavily in our programme of events and there are at least three nights every week given over to showcasing new and established bands and artistes across the range of music - from jazz to blues to folk. This commitment has earned us the title of
"The Home of Live Music in St. Andrews" for more than 25 years.

I studied at St Andrews for four years and have arrived at a conclusion: that the British Ministry of Culture should subsidize the establishment of an Aikmans-like pub in every UK county. This place is unimpeachable: there simply are no valid criticisms or objections one can level against this institution. With all the authority invested in me as a St Andrews resident and regular at Aikmnans, I declare all current and future negative reviews of this establishment to be virtually non-existent; they count for nothing.
Met up with my son for a bite to eat around 6pm. Had soup and a panini, my son had a burger. The staff were lovely and so was the food. Prices are so reasonable. My husband loves Cullen skink and as he has been ill and not able to go out, I asked the chef if I would be able to get some to carry out. He went out of his way to get a container for this as he did not have one on the premises. One happy husband as the Cullen skink was the best he'd ever tasted. Highly recommend and thanks so much guys.
Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, and good cider on draft - my favourite pub in St. Andrews, and that's even if the cellar isn't open!
Just dropped in for a mid afternoon pint and bite. Service perfect with bar staff offering tastes of unfamiliar cask ales. Substantial sandwich to accompany, all at very reasonable prices. Bit quiet being that time of day. Perfect escape from tourist/golf St Andrews. Likely to be back for music. A gem💎.
It's a nice bar, with friendly staff. Quite quiet at lunchtime, but still welcoming. The full menu is available in the evening. Lots of student events in the evenings, some live music too. The toilets are downstairs with the cellar bar - a wide variety of rums and whiskies!
